Run with the stars.

Welcome to Oria.

We say we’re people helping people - what does that actually mean?

First, you’re a person (…we presume. If you’re just really awesome AI, hi! Let’s be friends!).

Secondly, you interact with people. The way you think and live and love affects them. So when we help you, you help them.

But hey, here’s a weird idea: the mental health professional you want to talk to is, wait for it, also a person. That’s right. Therapists. Psychiatrists and their teams. Our psychologists who test and evaluate. Yep. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. People. (And those of us over here at HQ? Writing this? We’re people too. In case you were wondering.)

So, why people helping people? Because that’s it. That’s all there is. The life you live. The work you do. The people over here showing up to help you. The people over here showing up to help us help you. The people all over the place, at their laptops, with dogs on their laps and their favorite coffee mug by their side? We’re all just people. And what if we thought about behavioral and mental healthcare — really, mental wellness — as nothing more than figuring how to be a better person? How to be the best version of y o u.

What exactly is Oria?

A telehealth company.

We see your face and you see ours on any compatible device you use (camera, microphone, you know the drill). Your phone, your computer, your iPad, that weird cracked-screen Android tablet you got at the lost and found at work - it all works.

A mental healthcare company.

Oria consists of the full gamut of mental health providers - therapists (Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, and Psychologists) and psychiatric prescribers (Medical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians’ Assistants). Our founder is a Psychologist and even our leadership team is intimately familiar with mental healthcare. We hope that we’re your kind of people.

A company that cares about knowing you.

To get you to the right telehealth provider, we need to get to know you. Don’t worry, this isn’t one sided - we get to know our providers too, and we want you to know your own provider. We believe that therapy works best when you and your provider, as people, are compatible. The journey of therapeutic wellness should be a true partnership.

What we’d like to know about you.

  • Maybe it’s things like…

I haven’t been feeling like myself, and I decided it was time to do something about it.

My doctor referred me/my child/my family member.

I need clearance for a certain surgery or other procedure (e.g. bariatric surgery)

I moved to the area, and I need a new clinician for my mental health treatment.

I need help with my behavioral health meds. (e.g. antidepressants, treatments for ADHD, etc.)

  • Are you currently in treatment (therapy or psychiatry)?

Have you been in treatment in the past?

What do you feel helped you benefit from treatment in the past or, inversely, what do you feel kept you from benefitting from treatment?

  • In your own words, what are you looking for in a mental health professional.

It’s okay to say things like “I don’t know. I’ve never done this before.” just as much as it’s okay to say “I know I need someone who listens and can be patient with me. My last provider felt harsh.” Or whatever else feels true to you.

What you’d probably like to know about us.

  • Then we will do our best to make that happen. If you are in Central Texas, we have an in-person location in Killeen. We see many families from Fort Hood, Killeen, Temple, Harker Heights, and as far out as Waco and Austin there.

If you see us via telehealth, and we realize you need in person care, we will either coordinate with an Oria team member in your area to get you seen in person, or we’ll find you another local resource. That’s our promise.

  • We hear you. Change is scary, and it seems weird at first. But we ask everyone give it a try. We will always defer to clinical judgment as to whether it’s okay for us to treat you remotely, or if you or your loved one would be better suited by a traditional practice setting.

  • Absolutely. If you or your family member identifies with any of the following situations or circumstances, we’ll recommend either an in-person or hybrid (part-telehealth, part-in-person) plan.

    • A child under six years old

    • An individual in active psychosis (hallucinations, delusional thinking, etc.)

    • An individual in active detox from alcohol, or controlled substances

    • A child (under 18) on the Autism Spectrum, previously diagnosed or a child who is suspected of, or needs to rule out, whether they’re on the Autism spectrum. Industry best practice encourages administration an important evaluation exam called the ADOS, which must be done in person. While other versions of assessment can be done remotely, the ADOS and other developmental test components are best done in person.

    • An individual who is nonverbal and relies entirely on their caregiver to communicate.

    • An individual in acute crisis, presenting with active risk of harm to themselves or others. In this case, we would be happy to consider providing care post-stabilization.

  • Sometimes this happens! Because again, we’re all people and not all people are compatible with one another. If you feel your provider isn’t the right fit, you are welcome to let your therapist or our Customer Experience Team know so that we can transfer you to another provider.

  • Our providers are paneled with all major insurance carriers. If you will be billing insurance, we will make sure to match you with an in-network therapist who is also compatible with your needs for care.
